Some days,
you are tired of today, tomorrow and the day after.
Some days, you are tired of who you are,
who you have been and who you should be.
Some days,
you don’t give a flying fuck about what’s in store
and what’s out of stock.
Some days, you just need to be nothing.
To be in existent.
To be someone who has never been here.
To never be.
To never have been.
To be nothing.
Dear Lord,
Forgive my fondness to come before thee,
only once in a while,
I am amazed at how You have simplified the road,
to Your mighty presence.
That I could just sit here,
coffee in hand and talk to You about the weight in my heart,
the confusion in my mind.
Watch You lift it off,
without having to give a coin in tithe,
or buy preacher a chopper in Your name.
Your humility surpasses my understanding,
I adore Your name in all the languages,
all the forms, all the ways.
You are beyond simplicity,
even in all the complicated walls that our limiting minds
have set around You,
You are in the heavens,
The heavens are within our hearts.
You are within us, with us.
She mastered the art of turning,
the pain your voice caused her into an orchestra of her favorite
music.
She trained her heart rate to be constant, in the face of your anger,
Remember the days when she would breakdown for you?
She thinks about them too sometimes.
She marvels at how much you have built her, trying to demolish
her every pillar,
She no longer flinches at the sight of a ring with your name on it,
She isn’t searching for happiness anymore,
She found peace in the knowledge that you’d always kick her,
She’s also found comfort in the woman that she is,
because she is wanted by more than just herself.
You are the touch of nature. You are the fresh air that washes over my lungs. You are the clear stream that flows within me, cleansing my soul. You are life. You are the scent of flowers, in the garden that blooms in my heart. You are a dense forest with chirping birds and roaring lions, through which I walk to build courage. You are my courage. You are the smile on my face, and the fear in my heart. You are the path on which I trail. You are the road that leads me home, to you.
